Chevna is the leading and one and only company in Malaysia develop a community free Linux operating system targeting for a public consumer to enterprise sector. Headquarters in Malaysia, Chevna Invent (M) Sdn Bhd is a privately held company founded in January 2005. In March 2007, Chevna introduced Chevna 1.0, a Linux-based operating system designed to serve consumers a fully functional system with an ease of use.
We are a Linux enthusiast who is eager to applied an easy to use Linux desktop with a similarity of Windows operating system usage. Previously, we have been tried many version of available Linux operating system in the market and it is our time to build own operating system which can satisfied consumer a lot. At the time of our initial development, we are really want to build a system that is not only ‘just work’, but a ‘fully work’. The first version 1.0 of our operating system has been released to the public on 3rd March 2007.

Hardware requirements to install Chevna:
* PC with 1000Mhz or higher processor (For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. This version also runs on 64 bit PCs)
* A minimum of 128Mb of RAM (for best performance, recommended a minimum of 256Mb of RAM)
* A minimum of 1024x768 (recommended) resolution for monitor
* Minimum of 2.0Gb of Hard Disk Space
* Any CD-ROM or DVD Drive
* Any type of Keyboard and Mouse
* Chevna Compatible Sound Card (Optional)
* Chevna Compatible Modem, DSL Modem or Cable Modem (Optional)
* Network Interface Card for network/internet connectivity (Optional)

Not yet implemented:
* Computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon 64, X2, Opteron, Turion 64, EM64T, Xeon, Intel Core, Intel Core 2 Duo, Pentium D, Pentium 4 6xx and Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel Core 2 Duo or Xeon processors).
